How To Open Task Manager With A Mouse Click In Windows

Last Updated on October 12, 2020 by admin 1 Comment

The Task Manager in Windows operating system is an excellent way to manage all running applications and services. With the help of Task Manager one can even monitor the system performance, system up time, and other information.

While the fastest way to access Task Manager is to simultaneously press Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys, there are a couple of different methods out there to open Task Manager. One can right-click on the Taskbar and then click Task Manager, press Ctrl + Alt + Del and then select Task Manager, or simply type Task Manager in Start screen or Start menu followed by enter key to open the Task Manager.

Open Task Manager with a mouse click

As mentioned earlier, many Windows users who prefer keyboard shortcuts over mouse use Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys to quickly launch Task Manager but if you prefer using mouse, you can configure Windows to launch Task Manager with the click of mouse button.

The idea is to configure Windows to launch Task Manager when you middle-click on the empty space of the taskbar. If you’re on a laptop, you can instead configure Windows to open Task Manager when you double-click on the empty space of the taskbar.

If you like the idea of launching the Task Manager by middle-clicking or double-clicking the empty space of Task Manager, follow the given below instructions to make it happen.

Access Task Manager in Windows 10/8/7with a click

Step 1: Visit this page and download 7+ Taskbar Tweaker. The software is fully compatible with Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7. Once downloaded, run the setup file to install the same. A portable version of 7+ Taskbar Tweaker is also available for those who want to use it without installing the same.

Open Task Manager

Step 2: Launch 7+ Taskbar Tweaker. Under Middle click on empty space section, select Task Manager from the drop-down menu. And if you’re on a laptop, you can select Task Manager under Double-click on empty space section.

Now, simply perform a double-click or middle-click on the empty space of the taskbar to open Task Manager. That’s it!

If you have Windows 7 there is a much easier way and you don’t need to download anything. First open the task manager anyway you like. While it’s open go to its icon that is showing on the task bar. Right click on the icon and select “Pin To Taskbar. It will be permanently pinned to the taskbar and now you just have to single click it whenever you need to open it.

I don’t know if this will work on Windows 8, but from what I have seen from 8, it wouldn’t surprise me if it doesn’t.
