For a long time, Windows 11 offered an option to show detailed status from an app on the lock screen. Using this feature, we could show weather information on the lock screen.
However, recent builds of Windows 11 have been showing weather widget or weather information by default on the lock screen. Besides, in addition to the weather widget, Windows 11 has also started displaying stocks widget on the lock screen.
Most users do not mind seeing weather information on the lock screen, but many PC users do not like to see the stock market information on the lock screen.
If you are one of those users who do not like seeing weather and stocks information on the Windows 11 lock screen, you can turn it off under the settings app.
Here is how to remove weather and stocks widgets from Windows 11 lock screen.

Step 1: Open the Windows 11 Settings app using search or Windows logo + I hotkey.
Step 2: On the left pane of the Settings app, click Personalization. Now, on the right side, click Lock screen to open the lock screen settings page.
Step 3: On this page, from the drop-down box next to Lock screen status, select None. By default, Weather and more is selected, which shows weather, stocks, and other information on the lock screen.
Select the None option if you do not want to see any widget or information on the lock screen.
Show only weather information on the Windows 11 lock screen?
Unfortunately, the latest Windows 11 build does not offer an option to show only the weather widget on the lock screen. At present, it provides only the Weather and more option that shows weather, stocks, and other information.

Instead, I see, “Choose one app to show detailed status on the lock screen.”
I set it to “None.” It seems to have removed the widgets.
BTW, the font in this Comment box is medium gray on a light gray background. That sucks for the sight-impaired. More contrast!

I agree and dont want anything on my lock screen other than a pic. Nothing else is needed. Since the update dont have any apps selected yet I am still getting the weather, stocks and something else that Im really not wanting. Its frustrating.

I agree with Miss Liz above. I enjoy the beautiful scenes from around the world. The various widgets obscure the view and are of NO interest to me (except *maybe* weather). Thanks VERY much for these instructions!

I agree. Weather only should be a choice. Not all users want to see the same things.

I only want Weather and my interests on the Lock Screen. Forcing us to see Weather (which we want) only with Stocks & NBA (which not all of us want) which we can’t even change or personalize, is rude and intrusive. Not all of us are into Finance & NBA. If we’re to be forced, at least let us personalize and choose our options. That’s what I’m paying for.

I want weather conditions only.
Until it is switched back to weather conditions only as a choice, I opt to go with zero choices.
Or see if there’s an option to get rid of the lock screen.
