Keeping device drivers up to date is one of the best ways to ensure smooth and optimal system performance.
As you likely know, Windows 11 and Windows 10 PC users do not need to manually update device drivers as Windows 11 automatically downloads and installs the latest driver updates in the background. However, the caveat is that it might not always install the latest driver updates, and it may take some time for driver updates to become available via Windows Update.
Most OEMs offer their own software for checking and installing device drivers. Lenovo also offers two quality apps to help you keep your device drivers up to date.
This guide shows you how to update Lenovo PC drivers to the latest version.
Method 1 of 2
Update device drivers on a Lenovo Windows 11 PC using the Lenovo System Update tool
Step 1: Visit this Lenovo page and click the Download button.
Step 2: When asked to enter your Lenovo PC’s serial number, please type the same, and then click the Submit & Check button.
Click the Download button to download the Lenovo System Update tool.
NOTE: You can use the official Lenovo Vantage app to know the serial number.
Step 3: Run the downloaded Lenovo System Update setup file to begin the installation. When you get the User Account Control prompt, click the Yes button. Follow easy two-step on-screen procedure to complete the installation.
Step 4: Once installed, launch Lenovo System Update via search.
Step 5: If you get the following dialog, click No thanks or Sure, I’ll help to allow the app to collect information about the app usage.
Step 6: When you get the following screen, click the Next button.
Step 7: The tool will now start searching for driver and BIOS updates.
Step 8: Next, you will get the following screen. Select the checkbox and then click the OK button to accept the license agreement.
Step 9: The app now shows available updates in three tabs: Critical updates, Recommended updates, and Optional updates.
We recommend you select all updates under the Critical updates and Recommended updates. You may click the down arrow next to an update entry to know more about the update, such as the version number.
Step 10: Select the driver updates that you wish to install and then click the Next button to begin downloading the selected drivers and installing them.
Step 11: Click the Download button. Please note that if a BIOS update is available and you have selected it, your PC may require a reboot to install the update.
Step 12: Once installed, if a reboot is required, the same will be shown on your screen. Save your work and then reboot your PC. That’s all!
