How do I get Windows 10 updates even after the end of support date?

There are two ways to get Windows 10 updates from Microsoft for a year. First, you can pay Microsoft a small fee ($30 or equivalent in local currency) to get the updates (called extended security updates) for a year. Second, you can opt to sync your Windows 10 PC settings to OneDrive to get Windows 10 updates for free for a year (until 13 October 2026).

Can I upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11?

Yes, if your computer meets the minimum system requirements set for Windows 11, you can upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 with ease. The best part is that you can upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 without losing data.

Can I upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 on an unsupported PC?

Microsoft does not recommend installing Windows 11 on an unsupported PC. In fact, you will have to use third-party tools to bypass the system requirements during the Windows 11 installation.

Although many users have installed Windows 11 on unsupported computers and they seem to be using it without any issues, install or upgrade to Windows 11 on an unsupported PC only if you know what you are doing.

Does Windows 10 stop working after the end of support date?

Windows 10 will continue to work just fine even after the end-of-support date, just as previous versions did. It’s just that Windows 10 will no longer receive any updates from Microsoft. Third-party app developers may also stop supporting Windows 10 in a few years time.

So, in short, until 13 October 2026, you can rely on extended security updates without any issues. In other words, you can continue using Windows 10 for one more year by opting in for extended security updates.
