Installing Google Web Fonts in Windows
Note: This procedure works on Windows 10, 8.1 and Windows 7 as well.
Step 1: Head over to the official Google Web Fonts page.
Step 2: Use the search box search for your favourite font. Once the font you’re looking to install in Windows is in search result, click the Add to collection button.
Step 3: Next, click the Down arrow button located at the upper-right of the page to see Download fonts dialog.
Step 4: Click the option named Download the font families in your collection as a .zip file. Clicking on it will start downloading font added to the collection.
Step 5: Next, extract the downloaded .zip file onto the desktop or a new folder.
Step 6: Select all files that you got after extracting the .zip file (except OFL.txt file), right-click on them, click Install button to start installing downloaded Google Web Fonts on your PC. That’s it!
You can now use the installed Google Web Font in Notepad, Microsoft Office or any other applications.
And to uninstall a Web Font, open Control Panel, click Fonts to see all installed fonts on your PC, select the font that you wish to remove, and then click the Delete button located in the toolbar to remove the font from your PC. Good luck!

I’m having issues downloading fonts from google to my Mac and then using them in Word for Mac. When I go to my Font Book, it says that the fonts are installed; however, when I go to use them in Word, they aren’t there. Can anyone help me with this issue?

@jason: To install ALL fonts:
1. download the zip from github: https://github.com/google/fonts/archive/master.zip
2. extract that zip
3. in windows explorer go to the to the extracted fonts-master folder and in the search box in the upper right corner enter *.ttf and wait for the search to complete (takes a bit, there were 1736 ttf files found when I ran it.)
4. Select all (ctrl+A) and then right click and choose “Install”

1. Extracting “the downloaded zip. file” did nothing.
2. So how do I download the fonts without having to open up every single folder for each font? This article fails to explain that – it just says to select each font file and install. Well duh.
