4 Ways To Open Disk Cleanup Tool In Windows 11

The Disk Cleanup tool in Windows 11 is handy to free up a good amount of disk space. As you know, over time, a significant number of unnecessary files get accumulated by various Windows operating system features that not only take up disk space but also dent Windows 11’s performance.

Method 1 of 4

Use the search to open the Disk Cleanup tool in Windows 11

Use the Run command to open the Disk Cleanup tool in Windows 11

Step 1: Right-click the Windows logo icon on the taskbar and click Run to open the Run dialog box.

Step 2: Type cleanmgr and then click the OK button to launch the Disk Cleanup utility.

Open the Disk Cleanup utility from the Control Panel in Windows 11

Step 1: Open the classic Control Panel.

Step 2: Click System and Security.

Open the Disk Cleanup utility from the Command Prompt or Windows PowerShell in Windows 11

Step 1: Launch the Command Prompt using the search.

Step 2: Type cleanmgr and then press the Enter key to open the Disk Cleanup tool. If you wish to use the Disk Cleanup tool for a specific drive, you can use the following command:

cleanmgr /d C:

In the above command, replace “C” with the drive letter of the drive where you want to run the Disk Cleanup.
