5 Ways To Check If You Have Windows 11 Home Or Pro Edition

Have you recently purchased a new PC running Windows 11 or installed Windows 11 on your PC but are unsure about the edition? Do you want to know if you have Home, Pro, or any other edition of Windows 11? This guide shows you five easy ways to check your Windows 11 edition.

Method 1 of 5

Check if you have Home or Pro edition Windows 11 via Settings

Step 1: Open the Windows 11 Settings app using search or right-clicking the Start/Windows logo button on the taskbar and then clicking the Settings option.

Step 2: On the left pane of Settings, click System. Now, on the right side, click About to open the specifications page.

Step 3: Finally, you should be able to find details about the Windows 11 edition under the Windows specifications section. If details do not appear, click on Windows specifications once.

The Edition field shows if you are running Home or Pro edition.

Another way to check if you are running Windows 11 Home or Pro edition

Step 1: Right-click the Windows logo button on the taskbar and then click Settings to open the Settings app.

Step 2: In the left pane, click System. On the right side, click Activation.

Step 3: The Activation page not only shows your Windows 11 installation activation status but also the edition, as you can see in the pictures below.

Use Command Prompt to know if you have Home or Pro edition of Windows 11

Step 1: Right-click on the Windows logo button and then click Terminal (Admin) to open the same. Click the Yes button or type your admin password (if prompted).

Step 2: At the Terminal window, type Get-WindowsEdition -online and then press the Enter key to load the edition information.

Use the About Windows dialog to find if you have Home or Pro edition Windows 11

Step 1: In the Start or taskbar search, type winver and then press the Enter key to open the About Windows dialog.

Step 2: The About Windows dialog shows your version number, build number as well as edition.

Use the System Information tool to know if you have Windows 11 Home or Pro edition

Step 1: Search for System Information using Start or taskbar search.

Step 2: In the left pane of the System Information tool, ensure that Summary is selected.

Step 3: On the right side, the OS Name field shows your Windows 11 edition, i.e., Home or Pro.
