Microsoft Edge is one of the inbox apps in Windows 11. The Edge browser, now based on the Chromium open-source project, which also powers the popular Chrome browser, is the default web browser in Windows 11.

Launch Edge from the Start menu or taskbar search in Windows 11
Step 1: In the Start menu search field or taskbar search box, type ‘Edge’ and then hit the Enter key to open the Edge browser.

Step 1: Click the Microsoft Edge icon in the taskbar to run the Edge browser.
If the Edge browser does not appear in the taskbar (when not running), launch Edge using search, right-click the Edge icon in the taskbar, and then click the ‘Pin to taskbar’ option.

Step 1: Use the search to open Command Prompt or PowerShell. No need to launch as an administrator.
Step 2: Type ‘start msedge’ and then hit the Enter key to open the Edge browser instantly.

Another method to launch the Edge browser from the File Explorer in Windows 11
Step 1: Open File Explorer and navigate to This PC.
Step 2: Double-click the drive where Windows 11 is installed. If you do not know, the Windows 11 drive is generally indicated by a Windows logo on the drive icon.
Step 3: Double-click the ‘Program Files (x86)’ folder and then double-click the ‘Microsoft’ folder.
Step 4: Find the ‘Edge’ folder and then double-click on it to see all files and sub-folders under it.
Step 5: Finally, double-click the ‘Application’ folder to see the ‘msedge’ or ‘msedge.exe’ (.exe appears only if the File Explorer is configured to show file extensions) file. Double-click the file to open the Edge browser.
