NOTE: If you are trying to use Magic Trackpad with Windows 10/11, refer to our how to install Apple Magic Trackpad in Windows 11/10 guide.

Normally, we don’t cover Apple products here at IntoWindows. But as many Windows users are using Apple’s Magic Trackpad with Windows 7, we have decided to cover a small piece of software that helps you enhance the Trackpad experience in Windows 7.

If you have been using the Magic Trackpad for a while, you probably know that there is not even a single option available to personalize Magic Trackpad settings in Windows 7.

This is not a problem anymore with the release of Magic Trackpad Control Panel for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows. The software allows you to personalize Trackpad settings. The program basically provides options to change tracking speed, double-click speed, scrolling speed and other gesture settings.

Options are available to enable/disable tap to click, dragging, drag lock, secondary click, scroll, and secondary tab gestures.

Key features:

# Change tracking speed setting

# Change double-click speed setting

# Change scrolling speed setting

# Enable/disable drag lock

# Enable/disable dragging

# Enable/disable secondary click

# Enable/disable two finder scroll

# Enable/disable secondary tab

How to install and use Magic Trackpad Control Panel:

Step 1: Download Magic Trackpad Control Panel zip from here and extract the same on to the desktop to get Trackpad Control Panel folder.

Step 2: Open Trackpad Control Panel folder, double-click padset-0.3.exe file. This exe file has no user interface. So, simply double-click to execute the file.

Step 3: The next step is to run the Trackpad Control Panel.exe file. When the Trackpad Control Panel is running you will see a small icon in the taskbar notification area. Right-click on the icon and select Show Customizer option to view Magic Trackpad Control Panel settings.

Step 4: Move the scroll bar to adjust tracking speed, double-click speed, and scrolling speed settings. You can enable or disable one finger and two finder gestures by checking or unchecking an option. We recommend enabling Load at startup option.

Step 5: Once done, click the Apply button to save the settings.

First off: Thank you so so much for the control pad!
It’s awesome! I love using the magic trackpad on my PC. I’m on Windows 7 and have very few problems.
    I have one important question:
Is there a way to increase the double click speed beyond what is the ‘maximum’ setting on the control panel? The maximum is still considerably slower than what I need my double click to be and I’m having a lot of accidental dragging issues because my single clicks are being misinterpreted as double clicks.
i don’t mind light hacking. If you could give me some direction on this, it would dramatically improve my computing experience. Thanks!

    Hi,

it is not necessary to use step 2, because the control panel will make this.
