Last Updated on September 28, 2020 by admin 8 Comments

With Creators Update, Microsoft has brought tens of changes to Windows 10 operating system. While adding new features and options, a couple of features have been removed from the operating system.

The ability to change font size for title bar, menus, palette title, message box, and tooltip has been removed from Window 10 Creators Update. We had covered about this new change in our Advanced sizing of text and other items removed from Windows 10 Creators Update guide. This means that, you cannot change fonts for these things without manually editing the Registry. Before this, we could access these settings under Display.

Luckily, a new program has been launched to help users to change font size for above mentioned areas of Windows 10.

System Font Changer is a free program designed to help you change font size of title bar, palette title, menu, icon, tooltip, and message box.

The program creates a backup when you run it for the first time on your PC so that you can restore original font size with ease. The program even allows you export these settings.

And finally, System Font changer is a free program. Besides that, it’s a standalone utility, which means it requires no installation.

Be careful with high resolution screens. On my 4K notebook the sizes got smaller, not larger. Happily I had made the registry backup!
Use Advanced System Font Changer Instead!

Yes, this is a lifesaver. If combined with available Win10 scalling option (up to 200% everything works normally, I haven’t checked higher values) the user can personalize the size od all elements. Advanced Font Change allows to choose fonts for different elements, their sizes and other options to help visibility.

How about changing the FONT, and not just the SIZE?

Micro$oft, you guys are ruthless and clueless.
