How To Uninstall Mobile Plans App From Windows 10

Last Updated on September 25, 2020 by admin 7 Comments

If you are running Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 1709) or above build, you likely have an app called Mobile Plans on your PC. Mobile Plans is a free app from Microsoft designed to help you easily view and cellular data plans and buy them through Windows Store.

As per Windows Store, Windows 10 users can use Mobile Plans app to buy a data plan to get connected to paid Wi-Fi hotspot or cellular network in your area. Users who cannot find a free Wi-Fi hotspot or need a data plan to access the internet on the go can use the Mobile Plans app.

While this is a useful app, not all users buy additional Wi-Fi hotspot or cellular data plans. Besides that, in order to use cellular data service on your Windows 10 device, your device must have a cellular modem which most Windows 10 devices do not have. That is, your Windows 10 device must have a cellular modem as well as a supported SIM card to use cellular data.

Lastly, there is another catch with this app. As you know, paid cellular data plans are not available in all regions or countries. So, the Mobile Plans app might not be able to display plans in your country or region even if there is a built-in cellular modem on your device.

If, like me, you also feel that the Mobile Plans app is not useful, you can uninstall the app from your Windows 10 device. You can either remove it via the Settings app or use a third-party utility such as the CCleaner to uninstall Mobile Plans app from Windows 10.

Thank you. I hadn’t even heard of the Mobile Plans App. It didn’t show up in my programmes list for my uninstall programme. I thought my laptop might be clogged up and opened it up but it was pretty dust free and the fan was still going full blast when I turned it on, with high cpu and disc showing 100%. I noticed the Mobile Plans App was using very high power. Why would something I’ve never heard of and never knowingly turned on be doing that?! Google brought me to your article – so I’ve now uninstalled it and immediately the fan is quieter, and everything in task manager us now happy. This has been driving me nuts for ages. So thank you.

How about using “Advanced options” to revoke its “Background apps” permission?
    Or in Settings/Privacy/Background apps?
    Would that work?

Doesn’t work Bob is right. It needs to be removed as an app via powershell like a lot of their addon shit software such as paint3d.
