4 Ways To Close The Widgets Panel In Windows 11

Widgets board is a new feature introduced with Windows 11. The Widgets panel displays news and information both you want and need. The Widgets board can also be personalized to see what you want.

The Widgets board can be revealed by clicking on the Weather widget on the taskbar, Widget icon on the taskbar, or using Windows + W hotkey.

However, as you can know, the Widgets panel does not display a close button. Because of this, many users are not sure how to close the Widgets board after opening it.

Following are the four easy ways to close the Widgets board or panel in Windows 11.

Method 1 of 4

Close Widgets panel using mouse in Windows 11

Step 1: Perform a click on the weather button on the taskbar to close the Widgets panel.

If the Weather button is missing from the taskbar, click on the Widgets icon on the taskbar or refer to the other ways mentioned below.

Close Widgets using Esc key in Windows 11

Step 1: When the Widgets board is open, press the Esc key on the keyboard to close Widgets.

Close Widgets using mouse in Windows 11

Step 1: When the Widgets panel is open, click anywhere on the desktop, taskbar, or outside the Widgets board to close the same.

Method 4 of 4

Close Widgets with Windows logo + W hotkey in Windows 11

The Windows logo + W hotkey in Windows 11 opens the Widgets board. To close Widgets, you can use the same hotkey. When the Widgets panel is open, simultaneously press the Windows logo + W keys to close Widgets. That’s it!

    none of that worked~

    still unable to access my desktop because stupid widgets have taken over the screen

    i can’ even access task manager
