How To Reinstall Microsoft Print To PDF In Windows 11

Microsoft Print to PDF is one of the handiest features of the Windows operating system. Print to PDF was introduced with Windows 10 and is present in the latest Windows 11 as well.

With Microsoft Print to PDF, you can save any document, webpage, or picture as a PDF file. For instance, you can save a webpage that you have stumbled across as a PDF file so that you can share it with others or use it as a reference in the future.

The Microsoft Print to PDF option shows up in the printer’s list in the Print dialog/page. All you need to do is select the Microsoft Print to PDF option and then click the Print button to save the selected webpage/document/picture as a PDF file.

When Print to PDF is working, it works quite well without issues. That said, very rarely, it might stop working or disappear from your Windows 11 PC.

If you have issues with Microsoft Print to PDF on your Windows 11 PC, you can try reinstalling the Microsoft Print to PDF feature.

Yes, you can reinstall the Print to PDF by disabling it and then enabling it via the Command Prompt. Here is how to do that.

Steps to reinstall Microsoft Print to PDF in Windows 11

Step 1: On your Windows 11 PC, open Command Prompt as administrator. To do that, search for Command Prompt, right-click the Command Prompt entry in the search result, and then click the Run as administrator option.

Click the Yes button when you get the User Account Control prompt to let the Command Prompt run as an admin.

Step 2: In the Command Prompt window, copy and paste the following command to disable the Microsoft Print to PDF feature.

dism /Online /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:”Printing-PrintToPDFServices-Features” /NoRestart

Please wait for the command to complete the operation, as it might take a few seconds. Once completed, you will see “The operation completed successfully” message. Do not close the Command Prompt window yet.

Step 3: Next, copy and paste this command to enable it again.

Once again, wait for the command to complete the operation. Once done, you may close the Command Prompt window now.

dism /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:”Printing-PrintToPDFServices-Features” /NoRestart

Step 4: You may now try to save a webpage or document as a PDF file using Microsoft Print to PDF. The Print to PDF feature should now be available and work without any issues.

    tried the command – received message “The online/diable-feature/featurename option is unknown. For more information, refer to the help by running DISM.exe /?
