About ten percent of the world’s population uses the left hand as their dominant hand, which means about 700 million users are left-handed.
While there are about 700 million left-handed users, as you likely know by now, most if not all items are designed for right-handed people. From a scissor to computer mouse, all are designed for right-handed users only.
Left-handed users generally do not face issues while using trackpads, as a single tap is considered a left click and a two-finger tap is used for a right click. However, that is not the case with a mouse.
If you are left-handed and need to use a mouse regularly, you probably want to interchange the left and right mouse buttons. That is, you might want to configure the right button on the mouse to perform a left click and the left button on the mouse to perform a right click.
Luckily, the latest Windows 11 offers easy ways to change your left and right mouse buttons. The left and right mouse buttons can be interchanged right from the Settings app.
Interchange left and right mouse buttons in Windows 11
Step 1: Open the Windows 11 Settings app using search or Windows logo + I keyboard shortcut.
Step 2: On the left pane, click Bluetooth and devices. Now, on the right side, click Mouse to see options available to change the mouse settings.
Step 3: On this page, select Right from the drop-down menu next to the Select primary mouse button option. That’s it! From now on, the left button on the mouse works as right and the right as left.
As you can see in the picture below, the same page also allows you to make the mouse pointer bigger/smaller.
You may try it right away!
