Microsoft is rolling out the redesigned Start menu for Windows 11. The new Windows 11 Start menu not only offers an easier way to access installed apps but also is more customizable.
For instance, it finally lets you completely remove the Recommended section from the Start menu – one of the most requested features!
One of the key updates to the Start menu is how you view and access all installed apps. In the earlier or older Windows 11 Start menu, we had to click the All button in the Start menu to view all installed apps. The new Start menu lets you view all installed apps without performing multiple clicks.
If you are curious to know how to view all installed apps right from the Start menu, here is how.
View all installed apps in the new Start menu in Windows 11
Step 1: Open the Start menu by pressing the Windows logo key on the keyboard or clicking the Windows logo icon on the taskbar.
Step 2: In the Start menu, the “All” section at the bottom shows all installed apps. By default, apps are categorized. So, you need to click on a category to view all apps within it.
If you prefer this view, click on the category name to view all apps in that category. For instance, to view all apps in the Productivity view, click ‘Productivity’.
Step 3: To see a list of installed apps, select the “List” option (a Grid option is also available if you prefer it) from the View drop-down (refer to the picture below).
Step 4: In the List view, you can scroll the mouse wheel down or up to view all installed apps.
Tip: If the apps are arranged in list view, just open the Start menu and roll the mouse wheel to view all installed apps.

Doesn’t work on my version of Win11. The “Category” panel does not appear when “All” is selected. Instead, I am presented with the Win10 list of programmes – this being what I want displayed by default.
