Unlike a decade ago, downloading the printer driver from the official page is straightforward. All you need to know is the model number of your HP printer.
NOTE: More often than not, Windows 11 automatically downloads and updates device drivers, including printer drivers. If it’s not happening, you can manually download the printer driver.

Important: Please note that the HP website automatically detects your operating system and version number and offers the correct driver for your PC. So, please download the driver on the PC where you plan to connect your HP printer to avoid compatibility issues.
Steps to download HP printer driver from HP website
Step 1: In a web browser of your choice, visit this official page of the HP support website.
Important: Needless to say, the website offers drivers for HP printers only. If you own a printer from any other brand, please do not use this website or guide.
Step 2: In the “Let’s identify your printer” section, enter your HP printer model number, which you can find on your HP printer. Type the full model number. For instance, “HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw” and then click the search icon next to it.
Step 3: If you get the following screen with two or more printer options, click the correct one.
Step 4: Next, you should see the following screen. Your HP printer driver should be available for download in the Basic Drivers section. Click on it to expand the tree and view the driver download button.
If you need other official software for the printer, look for it under the Driver-Product Installation Software section. We recommend downloading the basic driver, as you can always download and install the HP Smart app from the Windows 11 Store.
Click the Download button next to the driver entry to begin downloading the driver.
