Like most of the web browsers out there, with default settings, Google Chrome browser also saves all downloaded files in the Downloads folder located in C:\Users\YourUsername.
The problem with the default download location is that, it’s located in the drive where Windows operating is installed. As you likely know, the system drive or the drive where Windows is installed, usually fills up quite fast as we install programs and apps.
Relocating the Downloads folder is one option. But if you don’t want to change the Downloads folder and want to use another folder instead of the default Downloads folder as your new download location for Chrome browser, you can do so under Google Chrome browser settings.

Change Chrome download folder
Step 1: Open Google Chrome browser. Click the More icon (three vertical dots) and then click Settings to open the Settings page.
Step 2: Scroll down the Settings page to see Advanced option. Click on it to reveal more settings and options.
Step 3: In the Downloads section, click the Change option next to the Location field and then select a location. Click OK button to set it as the default download location in Google Chrome browser.

I have changed the download folder to a secondary hdd, but I need to do this every time after I reboot because after the system reboots, it reassigns the download folder to the C drive. Is there a way to permanently change the default download folder location on google chrome?
