If you’re using a computer manufactured by DELL, you’re in luck as DELL is offering free diagnosing tools to help end-users find out what’s wrong with their PCs. These diagnostic tools will not only help you troubleshoot issues involved with hardware, but these tools are designed to deal with software issues as well. For instance, if your touch screen is not working for some unknown reasons, you could run these tools to identify the issue quickly and easily. Likewise, the battery life test will compare the current battery life of your DELL notebook or tablet to the design life.
The hardware diagnostic tool will help you test battery, Bluetooth port, in-built camera, card reader, GPS, floppy drive, hard drive, hard drive stress, keyboard, CPU, CPU stress, laptop lid, memory, memory stress, microphone, modem, monitor, motherboard, mouse, network card, removable storage, sound card, video card, video capture, and touch screen.
The software diagnostic doesn’t sound very helpful as it scans your PC for out-dated antivirus, spyware, and malware applications.
For users who can’t pinpoint your issue, DELL is offering a tool called Diagnose by Symptom tool, which lets you diagnose the problem by identifying symptoms.
And if you’re not sure what tools to run, you can select the complete diagnosis option to analyse your entire system to identify software and any hardware issues.
Download and run DELL diagnostic tools
Visit this official page, select your DELL PC model and number, click on the Diagnosis option on the left side of the page, switch to the Advanced tab, and then select what kind tools you would like to download and run. Finally, click Run Diagnosis button to begin downloading a small file and begin the test.
Please note that these DELL diagnosing tools will not run on computers manufactured by other manufactures, meaning these tools must be run only on DELL computers. So please attempt to run these tools only on DELL computers.
