Why is the Groove Music app missing from Windows 11 and 10?
The Groove Music app is missing from your Windows 11 and 10 installations because it was dropped from the recent Windows 11 and 10 versions.
The Groove Music app has been replaced with a brand-new app called Media Player. In short, the Media Player app replaces the old Groove Music app in the recent versions of Windows 11 and 10.
NOTE: The new Media Player should not be confused with the legacy Windows Media Player. On Windows 11 and 10, the new Media Player is the default multimedia player. However, you can install/enable the legacy Windows Media Player as well.
As you likely know, Groove Music was initially introduced with Windows 8 (called Xbox Music), but it supported only audio files. However, its replacement Media Player app supports both audio and video files.
Can I download the Groove Music app for Windows 11/10 PC?
As said earlier, on the latest version of Windows 11 and 11, the new Media Player app replaces the Groove Music app. Now that Groove Music has been replaced with a new app, there is no way to download and install the Groove Music app on Windows 11/10 PC.
The Groove Music app is no longer available to install from the Microsoft Store. So, there is no way to install Groove Music on your Windows 10/11 PC now.
