Microsoft Store was first introduced with Windows 8 and is available in Windows 10 and Windows 11 versions. The Microsoft Store, as you might know already, is a central place to install apps from a known and safe place.
The Microsoft Store app in Windows 10 and 11 is pretty polished and has a good collection of apps. While very few classic desktop programs are available on the Store app, thousands of popular modern apps and games are available on the Microsoft Store.
Is Microsoft Store available for Windows 7?
Because the Microsoft Store was introduced with Windows 8 back in 2012, its predecessor, Windows 7, does not offer the Store app.
Microsoft Store offers so many new apps that are not available outside the Store. For instance, the Facebook and WhatsApp apps are available in the Store. Because of this, many computer users who are still running Windows 7 would like to install the Microsoft Store on their Windows 7 computers.
Is it possible to install the Microsoft Store app on a Windows 7 PC?
Unfortunately, one cannot install the Microsoft Store app on Windows 7 computers. As of writing this article, there is no workaround to install Microsoft Store or apps from Microsoft Store on Windows 7. That said, you might be able to browse the Microsoft Store in a web browser like Google Chrome by visiting this page of Microsoft Store.
The best way to experience the Microsoft Store and apps offered in the Store app is to upgrade to Windows 10 or the latest Windows 11. Besides, it’s been a few years since Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7.
Support for Windows 7 was ended on 14 January 2020. So, it’s been about four years since the support ended. We recommend you upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11 immediately for the best computing experience.
Alternatively, if you are stuck with Windows 7 for some reason, you can try installing Windows 10 or 11 on a virtual machine and try the Microsoft Store and apps.
