Windows 11 will generally be available on October 5. Microsoft has already announced that Windows 11 is a free upgrade to eligible Windows 10 users. This means that PCs that meet the hardware requirements of Windows 11 can upgrade to Windows 11 for free.
A significant percent of Windows 10 users will not be able to upgrade to Windows 11 as the hardware requirement (such as TPM 2.0 and secure boot ) set by Microsoft allows only PCs produced in the last 4 or 5 years. Therefore, older PCs that are perfectly running Windows 10 cannot be upgraded to Windows 11.
Users who have PCs that meet Windows 11’s hardware requirements can upgrade to Windows 11 starting from October 5. While Windows 11 might not be immediately available via the Windows Update service for all PCs, you can download the Windows 11 ISO from Microsoft and manually upgrade the installation to Windows 11.
Many users who do not want to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 immediately are curious to know how long Windows 11 upgrade will be free?
How long will the Windows 11 free upgrade offer last?
As you might know, when Windows 10 was released, it was a free upgrade for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users. The free upgrade offer was initially for a year, but users are reporting that the free upgrade offer is unofficially available even today.
So, we can safely say that Windows 11 free upgrade will be available at least for a year. Even Microsoft has confirmed that the free upgrade offer end date will be no sooner than one year from general availability. It clearly indicates that the free upgrade will be available at least till October 4, 2022. We will not be surprised if Windows 11 free upgrade continues for a few years.
Windows 11 free upgrade offer end date?
According to this page of Microsoft, as of now, the free upgrade offer does not have a specific end date for computers that meet the minimum hardware and software requirements. However, Microsoft reserves the right to end the free upgrade offer eventually.
When should I upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11?
If your PC meets the minimum hardware requirements set for Windows 11, you can upgrade to Windows 11 whenever you want. Windows 11 is relatively stable. Since the first preview build release, we have been using it and are pretty happy with its stability. That said, we would like to mention that it is not stable as Windows 10 at this moment. If you ask us, the 2022 second quarter will be ideal for upgrading to Windows 11 as we expect Microsoft to iron out the remaining issues by then.
That said, you can always downgrade from Windows 11 to Windows 10 if you are not happy with Windows 10. Also, Windows 10 will be supported until October 14, 2025. So, if you cannot wait to get your hands on Windows 11, you can upgrade immediately. If not, we suggest you wait for a few months.

I tried Windows 11 about a year ago and, for me, it was absolutely horrible, so I switched back to Windows 10. If I try again and still cannot work with it will I be able to go back to Windows 10?

A licensed agreement for windows 11 showed up on my laptop computer that won’t exit unless I choose to agree or decline and stay with windows 10. It has shown up once before but said I could do it later. I haven’t back up my files so I haven’t agreed but I’m concerned it may not offer the free upgrade again. Did anyone else had this happen?
