The “Send to” option in the right-click menu (also called the file context menu) is a handy option to quickly share files. With its help, we can quickly send files to connected external drives, share files via Bluetooth, email, and create ZIP files. The feature also helps you create desktop shortcuts to files and folders.
In Windows 11, the modern right-click menu does not feature the “Send to” option. While the “Send to” option is present in the old context menu, we need to either hold down the Shift key while right-clicking a file/folder or click Show more options in the context menu to see the classic right-click menu, which means additional steps.
Luckily, a recent update has added the ability to customize the context menu without using third-party applications. This means that you can now add the missing options, such as the Print and Send to options, to the context menu.
Complete the instructions below to add the “Send to” option to the Windows 11 right-click menu.
Add the missing “Send to” option to the Windows 11 context menu
Step 1: Use the Start menu or taskbar search feature to launch Settings.
Step 2: On the left pane of Settings, click Personalization. Now, on the right side, click Context menu. If the Context menu option does not appear, it’s generally because the feature is not yet available on your PC, as it is being rolled out gradually.
Step 3: Finally, in the File actions section, turn on the Send to option (refer to the picture below) to add the Send to option to the context menu immediately. No need to restart your PC or File Explorer. That’s it!
As you can see in the picture above, the same page also offers the option to add Print and a few other options to the right-click menu.
