Microsoft Copilot is an AI-powered assistant designed to help you be more productive. Copilot can answer your questions and create creative images using your text input.
Copilot is now part of Windows 11 and is being rolled out to Windows 10 so that PC users can access Copilot right from their desktops. The dedicated Copilot app has also been launched for Android and iOS. However, sadly, no official Copilot app is available for Mac or macOS.
Unlike some iOS apps that can also be installed on Apple silicon Macs, this Copilot app for iPhone/iPad does not support macOS.
That said, if you are fond of Microsoft Copilot and use it often, you will be happy to know that there is a workaround to install Microsoft Copilot as an app on your Mac.
Many modern web browsers let you install websites as apps so you can access them quickly. Using this feature, you can install any website, including Microsoft Copilot, as an app.
What happens when you install Microsoft Copilot as an app on a Mac?
When you install Copilot as an app, the web browser basically creates a shortcut to the Copilot website and opens the Copilot in a separate window upon launching it. While this setup can not offer the same experience as a dedicated app, you can try and use this until an official Copilot app is launched for Mac.
Here is how to install Microsoft Copilot as an app on your Mac.
NOTE: As of writing this article, Copilot does not require you to sign in with a Microsoft account to access it via a web browser.
