HP Scan and Capture is a free app developed by HP to help HP scanner users scan pictures and documents with ease.

In addition to the standard JPG and PNG image formats, the HP Scan and Capture also lets you save scanned pictures/documents as a PDF file.

Additionally, the app also lets you edit the scanned documents.

Although HP has a new app called HP Smart with more features and options, many people prefer the old Scan and Capture for its easy-to-use UI. Moreover, the HP Smart app requires you create an HP account to use it for scanning which is very inconvenient.

Install HP Scan and Capture in Windows 11

Step 1: Visit this page of the Microsoft Store in a web browser of your choice.

Step 2: Click the ‘View in Store’ button to open the HP Scan and Capture page in the Microsoft Store app.

Step 3: Click the Install button to download and install the HP Scan and Capture app.

Uninstall HP Scan and Capture from Windows 11

Step 1: Open the Windows 11 Settings app. Go to Apps > Installed apps to view all installed apps on your Windows 11 PC.

Step 2: Click the ‘List view’ icon to ensure that the list view is selected.

Step 3: Scroll down the installed apps list to see the HP Scan and Capture entry.

Step 4: Click the three dots next to the Scan and Capture entry and then click the Uninstall option.

Step 5: Click the Uninstall button when you are asked for confirmation to uninstall the app immediately. That’s it!
