Notepad is one of the oldest apps in the Windows operating system. Post the launch of Windows 10, Microsoft replaced the classic Notepad program with the new Notepad app.
That said, the Notepad in Windows 10 does miss out on some of the new features introduced with the Notepad for Windows 11. For example, tabs and dark mode are not available for Notepad in Windows 10.
Notepad is one of the inbox apps, meaning that the Notepad app is installed by default. However, if the Notepad app is missing from your Windows 10 installation, you can install the same.
Similarly, if you do not like the Notepad app and want to uninstall it, you can do so as well. This guide shows you how to install and uninstall the Notepad app in Windows 10.
