How To Install Windows 11 Without Internet Connection

A reader recently asked us if it’s possible to install the newest version of Windows 11 without an internet connection as he could not do so. This guide will tell you how to install Windows 11 without an active internet connection.

Can I install Windows 11 without the internet?

Ever since the release of Windows 11 22H2, Windows 11 has required a working internet connection to complete the installation, especially in the Home edition. The Pro edition seems to offer an option to install Windows 11 without an internet connection.

So, if you are trying to install the Windows 11 Home edition on a PC not connected to the internet, you will see the following screen where the Next button is grayed out, and you cannot proceed to the next screen without connecting your PC to a working internet connection!

Install Windows 11 without an internet connection

Step 1: Start the Windows 11 installation and follow the on-screen directions until you reach the following screen.

Step 2: When you see this screen, simultaneously press the Shift and F10 keys to open the Command Prompt window on your screen.

Step 3: At the Command Prompt window, type the following command and then press the Enter key to disable the requirement.

Step 4: Your PC may restart once, and you might need to select your language, keyboard, and other things once again.

Step 5: The Let’s connect you to a network screen should now show I don’t have internet link. Click on it.

Step 6: Next, on the following screen, click the Continue with limited setup link and then follow the usual on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

NOTE 1: Since your PC is not connected to an internet connection, a local user account will be created during the installation. After the installation, you may migrate the local user account to a Microsoft account if you wish to do so.
