Do you own a Windows 10/11 laptop with a broken display? Want to restart your Windows 10/11 PC, which is not connected to a display? In this guide, we will tell you the two easy methods to restart Windows 10/11 PC without a display.

Since your PC’s display is not working or your PC is not connected to a display, we cannot use a mouse or touchpad to restart the computer. We need to use the keyboard to restart the PC.

Method 1 of 2

Restart Windows 10/11 without display or screen using keyboard shortcut

This method is my personal favorite. I use it every time I need to restart my computer. This method can be used even when your PC’s display is working just fine.

Step 1: Simultaneously press the Windows logo and X keys.

Step 2: Press the “U” key.

Step 3: Press the “R” key to reboot your computer immediately.

Note that Windows 11 will not restart automatically if there is any unsaved work. For example, if you have jotted down something in the Notepad app and have not saved it, Windows 11 will prevent the PC from rebooting.

Method 2 of 2

Another way to restart Windows 10/11 PC using keyboard shortcut

Step 2: Now, simultaneously press Alt and F4 keys to open the Shutdown Windows dialog.

Step 3: Press the Down arrow five times to select the Restart option.

Step 4: Finally, press the Enter key to restart your computer.
