Do you want to rotate an image by just a few degrees, not by 45 or 90 degrees? Do not want to use paid software like Photoshop and GIMP to rotate pictures? In this guide, we will see how to slightly rotate an image using the built-in Photos app in Windows 11.
As you likely know, the Paint app in Windows 11 and earlier versions also allows users to rotate images. However, the catch is that it allows the image to rotate by 90 degrees. This means that we have to rotate the picture by 90 degrees and not less than that.
Luckily, the new Photos app in Windows 11 supports rotating images by a few degrees to several degrees with a few clicks.
Follow the steps below to slightly rotate an image in Windows 11 using the Photos app.
Rotate a picture by a few degrees in Windows 11 with the built-in Photos app
Step 1: Open the image file that you wish to rotate with the Photos app. By default, the Photos app is the image viewer. So, all picture files are opened only in the Photos app.
If you have set a different app as the default image viewer, right-click the picture file you wish to rotate, click Open with, and then click Photos to open the picture file with the Photos app.
Step 2: Once the picture is opened with the Photos app, click the Edit button located in the top left. If you prefer keyboard shortcuts, press Ctrl + E to switch to editing mode.
Step 3: You should now see a slider right below the picture.
Step 4: Move the slider bar to the left or right to start rotating the image.
Once you find the perfect angle, click the Save as button, then click Save as a copy or Save, depending on your requirements. If you do not wish to alter the original image file, choose the Save as copy option.
Tip: The Photos app also offers options to rotate images by 90 degrees.
