Pin Control Panel To Taskbar To Quickly Access Control Panel In Windows 8

The best way to open Control Panel in XP, Vista, and Windows 7 was to open Start menu and click on Control Panel button. Now that Start menu has been removed in Windows 8, launching Control Panel is not one click job.

Add Control Panel To Windows 8 Taskbar

There are a quite a few ways to launch Control Panel in Windows 8. You can use the Start screen search, run dialog box, or create a Control Panel shortcut on to the desktop or explorer to launch Control Panel with a click. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could access Control Panel right from your taskbar?

Have you been looking for an easy way to open Control Panel in Windows 8 Developer Preview? Don’t you want to use the run dialog or the Start screen to launch Control Panel. Add or pin Control Panel to Windows 8 Taskbar to open it with a mouse click.

In this article, we will guide you how to pin Control Panel shortcut to Windows 8 taskbar.

Step 1: On your Windows 8 desktop, do a right-click and select Personalize option to open Personalization window. You will now see Control Panel icon on the taskbar.

Step 2: Right-click on the Control Panel icon (on the taskbar) and select Pin this program to taskbar option. You are done! You have just added Control Panel Shortcut to Windows 8 taskbar. You can now close the Personalization window that you have opened in step one to get back to your work.

    THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I have had my new laptop for a week and obviously still finding my way around new windows 8.1 and going to the control panel has been driving me nuts! I’d have to do a search to bring it up, couldn’t work out why i couldn’t find or make a shortcut but now you have solved my problem :)
    Obviously being a new laptop I am customising it and uninstalling all the added programs I don’t want so I was needing the control panel frequently.

    I have now bookmarked you for future reference ;)
