There is a clock on Windows 10’s taskbar, but I find it really small on my large 27” full HD monitor. So, I was looking for a good desktop clock for Windows 10. After searching for close to a week, I finally got what I was looking for.
Before I tell you about this new desktop clock for Windows 10, let me tell you little about desktop gadgets and why I didn’t use desktop gadgets to get a better clock.
As you likely know, desktop gadgets or desktop widgets are officially not part of Windows 10. Microsoft has dropped desktop gadgets from Windows 10 for security reasons, and there is no built-in alternative to desktop gadgets in Windows 10 (we may get one in future when Microsoft decides to add live desktop tiles). That said, you can always get desktop gadgets feature in Windows 10 by installing desktop gadgets for Windows 10, but I didn’t want to compromise on security.
Coming back to the new desktop clock that we are going to share with you, it’s not a free program to start with. However, it can be bought for just $1 from Windows Store. You can even try it before buying it. The new desktop gadget or widget is called Sense Desktop.
Sense Desktop
Sense Desktop is a Windows Store app designed to help you place an awesome looking clock on your desktop. As the name says, the clock is inspired by the HTC Sense UI. If you remember, there was a free HTC Sense gadget clock out there for Windows 7 as well.
The Sense Desktop gadget is simply cool. In addition to the time, it also shows date and weather information with animations. You can obviously select or change the location and animations.
The clock is moveable and can be placed anywhere on the desktop.
You can choose the time zone, time display format (12 or 24-hour), widget size, and widget opacity. There is an option to show temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius. Right-click on it and then click open Settings to see all available settings.
The Sense Desktop clock is the best looking and functional clock out there for Windows 10 desktop. If you are looking for a desktop clock, try it out right away.
Lastly, this is NOT a paid review of the clock. I liked it, so thought of sharing this beautiful desktop clock for Windows 10.
Visit the following Windows Store page to try or buy it. Let us know how do you like this desktop clock. Between, Fliqlo is the best clock screensaver out there for Windows.

As of 4/25/2023 “Cannot detect location.” App has completely stopped working for a week now. App is not even found in the Microsoft store anymore but when I click review on my own app that I’ve purchased it takes me to the app where I see multitudes of other people have left similar reviews, that the app has stopped working within the last week saying it has stopped detecting their location and the developers have not responded to their emails. This was an amazing app and the only clock/weather app I would use. But since the developers will not respond and refuse to fix it, I must now look for a new clock/weather app.

One of my favorite apps/widgets for my windows desktop! The fact that it doesn’t work with Win 11 is one of the many reasons I’m not moving from 10 to 11.

Yes, it look really cute.
But the weather is often 3 to 4 degrees out. A “refresh” doesn’t seem to do anything. I tried setting it to 30 minutes, and 1 hour. Either way it only refreshes hours from the last time. They need to fix this.

I am trying to buy your Windows 10 clock for the last 2 or 3 hour. Permanently I cannot get through passwords. They are trying to get my password, we are resetting passwords, and I am not capable to get over. Ridiculous. Microsoft is incredibly secure. It is like if somebody is trying to have extremely secure sex by using 10 condoms. Maybe he would make it through 10 condoms, but I doubt the sex would happen, and that’s what it was all about, wasn’t it?
Email probably won’t work, because they are trying to reset all my passwords… I’ve got good 30 years of education and I play with computers from 1985 or so. Shouldn’t I be able to buy a 1 dollar gadget?

try buying this if you dont live the USA!
paypal account not recognised. Debit card wont register as i dont live in an american state and dont have a zip code. Microsoft help sends you round in useless circles to avoid giving you an email address to query this.

The app is pretty cool but I was extremely annoyed by the fact that the temperature is typically 8 to 15 degrees off (low in the morning and high i the afternoon, correct mid day). I don’t know where this data is taken from, all of the online weather sites are much closer. Refresh doesn’t help.

Yeah, I tried the app. Opening it caused to to display for a second, then GONE. Over and over. Typical pile of chit from the MicroBrains Store.
