By know, most of you have installed and explored new Start screen, lock screen, metro apps, control panel, and other areas of Windows 8 Consumer Preview. There are several hidden useful features inn Windows 8. There is a secret key to boot into the safe mode, secret gesture to completely close metro apps, and then there is an in-built mini-god mode!
I know most of you probably have missed the new mini-god mode present in Windows 8 CP. What’s the purpose of the god mode? As we all know, god mode is nothing but a central place to access all system settings and tools. In simple words, it’s an advanced Control Panel.
In Windows 8, there is a mini-god mode present right on the desktop, but it’s not visible by default. The mini-god mode lets you quickly access Programs and Features, Network Connections, Power Options, Event Viewer, System (system properties), Device Manager, Disk Management, Computer Management, Command Prompt, Command Prompt (with admin rights), Task Manager, Control Panel, Windows Explorer, Search, Run, and Desktop.
So, how to access or open this mini-god mode? It’s simple. When you are in desktop mode, move the mouse cursor to the lower left bottom of the screen to see the new Metro Start button. Now, instead of a left-click, do a right-click on the button to view the mini-god mode!
Thanks to de8a for the tip.
