Have you downloaded a file from the Internet earlier today but are unsure where it’s saved on your Windows 11 PC? Want to find the files you downloaded today? This guide can help.
Finding files downloaded with the help of a web browser is easy if you know how.
The Downloads folder is the folder where all downloaded files are saved by default. For instance, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and all other web browsers automatically save the downloaded files to the Downloads folder only.
Finding only files downloaded today can be challenging, especially when you have hundreds of files. Luckily, the Windows 11 Downloads folder offers multiple options to quickly find files downloaded today.
This guide shows you how to find only the files downloaded today on your Windows 11 PC.
Method 1 of 2
Find files downloaded today on your Windows 11 PC using File Explorer
Step 1: Open This PC or Home.
Step 2: In the left pane, click Downloads to open the Downloads folder.
Step 3: Once the Downloads folder is opened, you will find all downloaded files. Here, to quickly find only files downloaded today, click the small down arrow icon next to the Date modified column header (hover the mouse pointer to see it) and then select Today. That’s it! The Downloads folder will now display only files downloaded to your Windows 11 today.
As you can see in the picture above, you can also use it to find the files downloaded on a specific date.
