Snip & Sketch is the replacement for the aging Snipping Tool. With the new Snip & Sketch tool in Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) and later versions, you can take screenshots, annotate them, and share.

As far as features are concerned, Screen Sketch tool is more or less like the Snipping Tool but offers more annotate options. Like the classing Snipping Tool, it offers freeform clip, rectangular clip, and full-screen clip modes.

Users who often need to take screenshots prefer to use keyboard shortcuts over the mouse. If you also love to launch and use Snip & Sketch with the help of keyboard shortcuts, you will be happy to know that Snip & Sketch offers keyboard shortcuts to open and access its features.

Following are the keyboard shortcuts available in Snip & Sketch.

Windows + Shift + S – Launch Snip & Sketch

Print Screen (PrtScn) – Open Snip & Sketch

After opening a new clip, use Tab key to navigate between available modes and then press Enter key to select the mode.

It is now late 2020 and there is still no zoom out / zoom in option; the normal keyboard shortcuts don’t work (ctrl+, ctrl-), nor does holding down ctrl and using the sroll wheel on mouse!

Select/ copy and PASTE would be nice

Shape and straight line drawing (without using ruler) would great too

    1. Completely agree with Brent! No zoom in/out with extremely zoomed in screenshot makes cropping tedious.

Snip & Sketch should add a zoom in/out control somewhere.

    2. When preparing certain documents one of the things you do frequently is capture a window image. The snipping tool had a window selection option that made this a one click operation. Snip & Sketch does not, you have to take a full screenshot and crop it, or draw a rectangle around the window of interest. Either way you go, it takes longer to capture a window image than it did with the snipping tool, and the results won’t be as clean and consistent.

Snip & Sketch should add a window snip option.

Alt + F4 will close the Snip & Sketch window if it is active

THERE”S NO WAY TO ZOOM IN/OUT! I am a new user to Snip & Sketch and this is a deal breaker. The photo that was opened is so zoomed in and there’s no way to zoom out. not good.

Ctrl + Scroll wheel doesn’t work
    Ctrl + hyphen (-) doesn’t work
There is no right click option
No View menu to select zoom %. This is terrible…
