Millions of Windows PC users who were using Windows 7 are finally upgrading to Windows 11 PCs. Since many things have changed from Windows 7 to Windows 11, they obviously have several queries with respect to Windows 11.
Many users who have started using Windows 11 have asked us about accessing My Computer in Windows 11.
In Windows 7 and earlier versions of the Windows operating system, the File Explorer (earlier known Windows Explorer) would open Computer (My Computer) by default. A Computer icon would also appear on the Windows 7 desktop so that users can open it quickly and easily.
The “Computer” would display all internal and external drives, including optical drives.
Where is My Computer in Windows 11?
In Windows 8 and later versions, My Computer or Computer has been renamed to This PC. That is, you need to access This PC in the File Explorer to see your internal and external drives, although it’s possible to configure Windows 11 to show them in the left pane of the File Explorer.
Additionally, the This PC icon does not show up on the desktop by default, which makes accessing This PC a little harder.
While there are many ways to open This PC or My Computer in Windows 11, the following ones probably the easiest ways.
Method 1 of 3
Open This PC or My Computer via File Explorer
Step 1: Click the File Explorer icon on the taskbar to open Home. If the File Explorer icon is missing from the taskbar, refer to the directions in Method 2 to open My Computer or Computer.
Step 2: On the left pane, click This PC to open My Computer or This PC. Once again, if the left pane does not show This PC, worry not. Simply refer to the directions in Method 2.

Open This PC or My Computer via Run command in Windows 11
Step 1: Simultaneously press Windows logo and R keys to open the Run command dialog.
Step 1: Type shell:mycomputerfolder in the field and then hit the Enter key.

Use Windows + E to open My Computer or This PC in Windows 11
If you prefer using keyboard shortcuts to get things done, you will be glad to know that you can configure Windows 11 to open My Computer with Windows + E keyboard shortcut.
By default, the Windows logo + E keyboard shortcut brings up the Home folder. However, you can change the File Explorer settings to open This PC or My Computer with Windows logo + E keyboard shortcut.
