Almost all major web browsers now have AI features built in. The popular Mozilla Firefox browser is no exception.
With the rapid integration of AI across operating systems, apps, and browsers, many users find it annoying and excessive.
If you are using the Firefox browser and feel that AI features are unnecessary in a web browser that is meant to access the web, you will be happy to know that the Firefox browser now offers options to disable or block AI features.
The best part is that Firefox not only supports blocking the AI chatbot in the sidebar but also offers other AI features, such as key points in link previews, Tab group suggestions, Image alt text in the built-in PDF viewer, and Translations. In short, you can now block or disable all AI features in the Firefox web browser.
Enable or disable all AI features in Mozilla Firefox on a Windows 11 PC
Step 1: Launch the Firefox browser if it’s not already running.
Step 2: In the Firefox browser, click the menu icon and then click Settings to open the Firefox Settings page. Alternatively, you may type about:preferences in the Firefox address bar and then hit the Enter key to open the settings page.
Step 3: Here, on the left side, click AI Controls to view all settings and options available to control the built-in AI features.
NOTE: The option to disable and enable AI features is offered in version 148 of Firefox. So, if you cannot see the AI Controls tab on the left pane, please update the Firefox browser to the latest version and try again.
