Microsoft recently introduced a new recovery feature to Windows 11 called Point-in-time restore. Point-in-time restore, when enabled, automatically takes snapshots of your apps, files, and Windows settings approximately every 24 hours and keeps them for 72 hours.
When you need to restore Windows 11, you can use one of these restore points. If you are wondering, the old System Restore feature keeps files while restoring your Windows PC to an earlier date, whereas this Point-in-time restore feature restores all files and settings to the selected date & time restore point.
With default settings, the Point-in-time restore feature allocates about 2% of the Windows 11 drive space. While this might look sufficient, the fact that the Point-in-Time feature also shares storage space with the classic System Restore feature makes the allocated disk space a little less.
Depending on your Windows 11 install drive size and the size of the files on the drive, this might be enough or might not be enough to have up to three point-in-time restore points. For instance, on my PC, the feature was using about 4.6 GB of disk space with only one point-in-time and one classic system restore point.

Step 1: Open Windows 11 Settings using search or the Windows logo + I keyboard shortcut.
Step 2: On the left pane of the Settings app window, click System. Now, on the right side, click Recovery.
Step 3: In the Recovery options section, click the View or edit button next to the Point-in-time restore to open the Point-in-time restore settings dialog.
Click the Yes button when you see the User Account Control prompt.
Step 4: Here, click the Restore point disk usage to see the slider that allows you to change the allocated space for the feature.
Step 5: Check the current usage and number of restore points created. If you feel the allocated space is insufficient, please move the slider before clicking the Save button.
As mentioned earlier, alerting the space allocated to the point-in-time restore feature also automatically changes the disk space allocated to the classic system restore feature.
