Unfortunately, yes. You will need a Microsoft account to install the Microsoft Solitaire Collection game from the Microsoft Store on Windows 10/11. This is not an issue if you have been using a Microsoft account to sign into Windows 10/11.
However, users using a local user account need to sign in to the Store with a Microsoft account or provide Microsoft account details when asked to begin installing Solitaire Collection.
If you are wondering, it’s not just the case with Solitaire Collection. Many apps (not just apps developed by Microsoft) in the Microsoft Store require you to sign in with a Microsoft account to install them. For instance, you cannot install the Netflix app without using a Microsoft account.
Can local account users install Microsoft Solitaire Collection?
