Classic Color Panel: Change The Color Of Font And Other Items In Windows 10

Window Color and Appearance dialog in Windows 7 and earlier versions allowed us to change the font size and font color of various items including desktop icons, and menu other items.

As you are aware, Microsoft has removed Window Color and Appearance dialog from Windows 8 and Windows 10 for reasons best known to them. A few third-party tools out there to help you to change the font size of some items in Windows 10 but none of them offer the convenience of a built-in feature.

In Windows 10, changing the font size of some items was not an easy job. But starting with Windows 10 Redstone 5 (version 1809), there is an easy to change the text size in Windows 10.

If you want to change the color of the menu, scroll bar, caption bar, and text color in various items, you can now use a third-party tool called Classic Color Panel by WinTools.

Classic Color Panel for Windows 10 is a free utility designed to enable you to change the color of various items including fonts, menus, window borders and many other items.

With Classic Color Panel, you can change the color of button text, caption text, gray text, highlight text, inactive caption text, active caption, background, button face, active border, app workspace, gradient active title, gradient inactive title, button shadow, scrollbar, menu highlight, menu bar, menu, window, window frame, window text, menu text, info text, and various other items.

Upon launching the Classic Color Panel, it allows you to save or backup your current color settings. We recommend you use this feature to backup the current color settings so that you can restore the original color settings if and when you need.

To change the color of an item, select the item, choose a color of your choice from the color dialog, click OK, and then click the Apply button located in the menu bar. When asked to log off and log on, please do the same. To restore the default color, select an item and then click Default in the menu bar.

    There does not seem to be an option to change the desktop icon text.
