Fix: Copilot Not Showing On Taskbar In Windows 11

Do you want to open Copilot on your Windows 11 PC but cannot see the Copilot icon on the taskbar? Is the Copilot icon not showing on the Windows 11 taskbar? Would you like to add the Copilot icon back to the Windows 11 taskbar? Read on to learn how to add the Copilot icon to the Windows 11 taskbar.

In earlier versions of Windows 11, we could add or remove the Copilot icon to the Windows 11 taskbar via the Taskbar settings page. However, with Windows 11 24H2, you can no longer add or remove the Copilot icon from the taskbar settings page.

This guide shows you how to add Copilot to the taskbar on a Windows 11 PC.

Add Copilot to the Windows 11 taskbar via the Start menu search

Step 1: In the Start menu or taskbar search field, type Copilot to see Copilot’s entry in the search results.

NOTE: If the Copilot is not showing up in the search results, Copilot app has likely been removed from your PC. Refer to the directions in our how to uninstall or reinstall Copilot in Windows 11 guide for directions.

Step 2: Right-click on the Copilot’s entry and then click the Pin to taskbar option to add Copilot to the Windows 11 taskbar.

Once added to the taskbar, you can move around the Copilot icon. All you need to do is, click and hold the Copilot icon and then drag the icon to a location of your choice (app icons area).

Step 1: Use the search to launch the Copilot app.

Step 2: Once the app is launched, right-click on its icon in the taskbar and then click the Pin to taskbar option to add the Copilot icon to the Windows 11 taskbar.

Another way to add Copilot to Windows 11 taskbar

Step 1: Launch the Copilot app using search or any other method.

Step 2: Click the three dots in the Copilot app’s title bar (refer to the picture below) and then click the Pin to taskbar option. Simple as that!

Add Copilot to the Windows 11 taskbar via Copilot settings

Step 1: Open the Copilot app.

Step 2: Click on the three dots in the Copilot title bar and then click App settings to open the Copilot app’s settings page in the Edge browser.

Step 3: Finally, click the Pin to taskbar option to immediately add the Copilot app to the Windows 11 taskbar.

Remove the Copilot icon from the Windows 11 taskbar

Step 1: Perform a right-click on the Copilot’s icon on the taskbar and then click the Unpin from taskbar option. That’s all!
