Microsoft Office Word requires no introduction. It is one of the most loved document processors out there.
With default settings, the status bar (the bar that appears at the bottom of the Word window) shows many useful details, such as the page number and word count.
However, at times, the word count might go missing from the status bar. If the word count is missing from the Word program in your Windows or macOS as well, here is how to restore it.
NOTE: Remember that the Office Word program does not show the status bar (which shows the word count) when in Focus mode. You need to either exit the Focus mode or move the mouse pointer to the top edge of the screen to view the ribbon and status bar. Additionally, the Read mode does not show the word count.
