How To Add New Settings To Quick Settings In Windows 11

Quick Settings is one of the new features introduced with Windows 11. As the name might suggest, the Quick Settings helps you access various settings quickly right from the taskbar.

The Quick Settings flyout can be accessed by clicking on the network/volume/battery icon in the taskbar. If you prefer using a keyboard shortcut, use Windows + A to open Quick Settings.

With default settings, the Quick Settings flyout allows you to join Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, turn on Airplane mode, Battery saver, Focus assist, and adjust screen brightness and volume. At the bottom of the flyout, there are battery and settings/gear icons.

In addition to these default settings, you can add a few more settings to the Quick Settings flyout. Windows 11 currently allows adding Cast, Keyboard layout, Mobile hotspot, Nearby sharing, Night light, and Project buttons to Quick Settings flyout. Of course, you can also remove default settings from Quick Settings if you wish to do so. So, you can add or remove settings from Quick Settings.

This guide will show you how to add new settings to Windows 11 Quick Settings.

Step 1: Open the Quick Settings flyout by clicking on the network/volume/battery icon on the taskbar or using Windows + A hotkey.

Step 2: Perform a right-click anywhere on Quick Settings and then click Edit quick settings option. Alternatively, you can click on the pencil icon located bottom right of the flyout.

Step 3: Now, click on the Add button to see available settings. Select/click on a setting to add it to Quick Settings. Repeat this step if you would like to add more than one setting.

NOTE: If the Add button is greyed out, it’s because you have added all available settings to Quick Settings.

By default, the newly added setting will appear at the end of the current list. However, you can drag it to move it to the top or any other location.

Step 4: Finally, click on the Done button to save the changes.

Remove settings from Quick Settings in Windows 11

Use this method if you want to remove a setting from the Quick Settings flyout.

Step 1: Open Quick Settings. Click on the Edit quick settings icon (pencil icon).

Step 2: To remove a setting, click on the unpin icon on the button (refer to the picture below).

Step 3: Click on the Done button the save the change.

Tip: You can change the color of the Quick Settings flyout by changing the accent color.

    Peter, you are right. It was present in Windows 10 as well but it was part of Action Center.
