Whether you are using a local user account or a Microsoft account, changing the user account picture is easy in Windows 10/11. This guide will show you how to set a photo or video as your account picture.
The account picture/video shows up on the login/sign-in screen and the Settings app.
Here is how to change the user account picture in Windows 10/11.

Step 1: Open the Settings app. Go to Accounts > Your Info page.
Step 2: In Windows 10, under the Create your picture section, click on the Camera icon to capture a photo and use it as an account picture. If you like to use an existing photo, click on Browse for one and select your desired picture.
In Windows 11, under the Adjust your photo section, there are two options: Take a photo and Choose a file.
If you wish to take a photo with the help of your PC’s camera, you can click on the Open Camera button (which opens the Camera app), click on the capture button to take your photo, and set it as the account picture.
However, if you like to use an existing photo for your account picture, click the Browse files button and then select the image you like to set as the account picture.
Set video as account picture in Windows 10/11
In addition to a static picture, both Windows 10 and 11 allow you to set a video as an account picture as well.
Step 1: Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info page.
Step 2: Click the Open Camera button (Windows 11) or Camera (Windows 10) to open the Camera app.
Step 3: Here, by default, the photo option is selected. You need to select the video option by clicking on the video icon.
Step 4: Next, click on the video icon to begin recording a video. Once done, click on the red icon again to stop the recording.
Step 5: Finally, click the Done button to save and use it as the account picture.
