Miracast is an advanced wireless technology that can help you project your Windows 10/11 PC’s screen to TV, projectors, monitors, and other streaming devices that also support Miracast.
Most of the modern PCs support Miracast. Windows 10/11 users can use Miracast to wirelessly mirror Windows 10/11 PC’s screen to TV, monitor or projector.
If you recently bought a mid to high-end Windows 10/11 PC, then your PC likely supports Miracast. But how to check if your Windows 10/11 PC supports Miracast?
Of course, you can check your PC’s manual or contact the manufacturer to check if your PC has Miracast. In addition to these methods, there are two simple ways to check if the Miracast wireless technology is available on your PC.
Follow the given below instructions to check if your Windows 10/11 PC supports Miracast.
Method 1 of 2
Check if your Windows 10/11 PC supports Miracast
Step 1: Open the Run command box. To do so, simultaneously press Windows logo and R keys on the keyboard. Alternatively, you can type Run in Start menu/taskbar search field and then press Enter key.
Step 2: In the Run command box, type Dxdiag and then press Enter key to open DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
If you see the following dialog with “Do you want to check if your drivers are digitally signed? To check your drivers, Windows might connect to the Internet, but doesn’t send personal information about your computer” message, simply click the NO button.
Step 3: In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window, click Save All Information button, and choose your PC’s desktop to save the DxDiag text file. Don’t forget to click the Save button after selecting the location.
Step 4: Now, navigate to your desktop or any other location where the DxDiag file is saved and double-click on DxDiag file to open it with Notepad. If the file is not opening with Notepad, right-click on it, click Open with and then select Notepad.
Step 5: In the DxDiag file, look for the Miracast entry. If your Windows 10 PC supports Miracast technology, you will see Available text next to Miracast as shown in the picture below. That’s it!
Method 2 of 2
Use Settings app to check if your PC has Miracast
Step 1: Open the Settings app.
Step 2: Navigate to System > Display. You should now see all display related settings there.
Step 3: In Multiple displays section, you will see Connect to a wireless display link if your PC supports Miracast.

Miracast is ‘not available’ on my Windows 10. Does this mean there is no way I can download it?
