Windows 11 finally lets users set Windows Spotlight picture as desktop background.
When you set Spotlight collection picture as desktop background, Windows 11 automatically adds a Learn about this picture icon to the upper right of the desktop.
The Learn about this picture serves multiple purposes. First, double-clicking on it brings up a Bing search webpage with more information about the current desktop background. Yes, finding where a spotlight picture was taken is so easy now.
Right-clicking on the Learn about this picture shows “Open,” “Switch to next picture,” “I like this picture,” and “Not a fan of this picture” options. The “Open” option brings the Bing page with details about the current desktop background. The “Switch to the next picture” option applies the next Spotlight collection picture in the queue.
The “I like this picture” or “Not a fan of this picture” options allow you to tell Windows 11 to show or not show a similar picture in the future.
Now, not everyone likes to learn about the current desktop background. If you are someone who likes to keep your desktop free of icons, you might want to hide or remove the Learn about this picture icon.
Unfortunately, Windows 11 does not let you delete the Learn about this picture icon from the desktop as it’s part of the Spotlight collection feature. But, of course, the icon does not take much space and can be moved around on the desktop, just like other icons.

What a ridiculous non-solution. How about you remove everything but the last sentence and save everyone some time? Why would hiding all desktop icons be an acceptable solution? It’s insane that this result shows up in a search engine, let alone near the top.
