Maybe, it’s the speed, maybe it’s the user interface, maybe the vast number of extensions, or perhaps it’s the combination of everything, but a large percentage of computer users prefer Google Chrome browser over other web browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari.
Because most users love the Chrome browser, and they use it almost every time they turn on their computers, many users like to automatically start Chrome browser with Windows 10/11 so that they do not have to launch it manually.
Both Windows 10 and 11 offer easy ways to add Chrome to Windows startup so that it can automatically run with Windows startup.
This guide shows you how to manually add Chrome to the startup folder in Windows 10/11 to allow it to automatically start with Windows 10/11.
Method 1 of 3
Add Chrome to the startup folder in Windows 10/11
Step 1: Search for Google Chrome using Start/taskbar search, right-click on its entry, and then click the Open file location option.
Step 2: The resulting folder should show the Chrome shortcut.
Now, copy (and not cut) the Chrome’s shortcut icon.
Step 3: Use the Start/taskbar search to open the Run command box. Type Shell:startup and then press the Enter key to open the startup folder.
As you might already know, we can make a program run automatically with Windows by adding its shortcut to the Startup folder.
Step 4: Right-click in the startup folder and paste to add Chrome’s shortcut to the startup folder. That’s it! From here on, Chrome will automatically start every time you turn on your computer.
Method 2 of 3
Another way to make Chrome start automatically with Windows 10/11

Step 3: Once you are in the startup folder, click New and then click Shortcut to open the Create a new shortcut wizard.
Step 4: Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application folder, select the Chrome or Chrome.exe file, and click the OK button.
Click the Next button.
Step 5: Click the Finish button again to create a shortcut to the Chrome browser in the startup folder. That’s it! From now onwards, Chrome will automatically start with Windows 10/11.
