How To Reset OneDrive In Windows 10

Last Updated on March 30, 2017 by admin 1 Comment

OneDrive, the cloud storage service from Microsoft, is baked into Windows 10. The OneDrive folder appears in the navigation pane of File Explorer, and there is a dedicated OneDrive app for Windows 10.

Once you set up OneDrive, OneDrive automatically syncs files and folders. OneDrive mostly works in the background, meaning requires no manual intervention. However, at times, you might encounter issues while using OneDrive. Sync issue is one of the common OneDrive problems.

There is an official OneDrive troubleshooter to find and fix all OneDrive issues, but it is not compatible with Windows 10. So, if you are experiencing OneDrive sync or any other OneDrive issues, you can try to reset the OneDrive to fix all issues at once.

Resetting OneDrive is easy. You just need to complete the given below directions to reset OneDrive in Windows 10 and fix issues.

NOTE 1: If you have not done yet, we recommend you restart the OneDrive client once as it solves the issue many times. Right-click on OneDrive icon in notification area of taskbar, click Exit to close OneDrive, use Start/taskbar search to launch OneDrive again.

NOTE 2: Before resetting OneDrive, we recommend you sign out and sign in again (see how to sign out of OneDrive) to check if it resolves the issue.

Step 1: Open Run command dialog. To do so, simultaneously press Windows logo and R keys or simply type Run in Start/taskbar search field and then press Enter key.

Step 2: In the Run command dialog, copy and paste the following path:

%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

Click OK button.
