Windows 8 CP ships with some quality Metro-style apps. Camera, Photos, Reader, Mail, Calendar, People, Xbox LIVE Games, Solitaire, Xbox Comparison, Pinball FX2, Music, Maps, Video, Finance, SkyDrive, and Weather are some built-in apps that can be launched from the Start screen.
In Windows 8, installing a new Metro-style app is pretty straightforward. Just visit the Windows Store, browse the app, and then install the app you want. Uninstalling a Metro app is even easier. You don’t need to open the traditional Control Panel or Programs and Features to uninstall an app. Jut right-click on the app tile to see the Uninstall command. Clicking on the uninstall command will immediately remove the app and related info from your PC.
If you have accidentally uninstalled or deleted a native app from your PC, you can easily restore it with a few mouse clicks or taps. Follow the instructions given below to restore all deleted or uninstalled built-in apps.
Step 1: Switch to the Start screen. Click on Store tile to open the Windows Store.
Step 2: Once the Store is open, under Spotlight, you will see apps. Click on the “Got apps?” tile (see the picture below) to view the full list of apps that ship with Windows 8.
Step 3: Click or tap on the app that you want to install. This action will open the details page, where you can see features, release notes, and reviews.
Step 4: On the left-pane (on details page), you will see the Install button. Click on the Install button to begin installing the app. You are done!
