How To Set Video As Wallpaper In Windows 10

If you remember, back in 2007, Microsoft had released a tool called Windows DreamScene for the Ultimate edition of Windows Vista. With the help of DreamScene feature, one could set a video or animated GIF as wallpaper in Vista.

As we all know, the DreamScene feature was officially not available for Windows 7 or is not present in the latest Windows 10 operating system as well. Third-party utilities were released to enable DreamScene in Windows 7, but those tools are not compatible with Windows 10.

So, if you want to set your favorite video as wallpaper in Windows 10, you have no option but to go for third-party software. There are few applications out there that can help you set a video as desktop background in Windows 10. But the new Plastuer is probably the best software out there to set video as wallpaper in Windows 10.

To start with, Plastuer is a quality software designed to enable users set video or animated GIF as wallpaper in Windows 10. With Plastuer, you can have a video as desktop background in a few seconds.

Before we tell more about Plastuer, it’s important to note that Plastuer is not a freeware. But that doesn’t mean that it costs a bomb. Plastuer is a pay what you want software, meaning one can buy this software by paying as low as $10 or $1 or even $.10.

Plastuer supports AVI, MP4, OGG and WMV video formats. This means that you can set a video file with avi, mp4, wmv or ogg extension as wallpaper. If you have a video file of any other format, you need to convert it one of these compatible formats.

Step 1: Jump to the official Plastuer website and pay what you want to download the Plastuer software. As said before, the developer is not offering the trail copy of Plastuer for now. You should pay to download the licensed copy.

If you want to try Plastuer before paying, we suggest you download it by paying a small amount, and once you are happy with it, you can pay what you want to pay.

Extract the downloaded zip file to get the Plastuer.exe file.

Step 2: Run Plastuer.exe file. Plastuer is a standalone software and requires no installation to run.

Step 3: When you run Plastuer, it automatically detects the number of screens on your PC and shows the same. Click on the screen number where you want to set video as wallpaper to proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Finally, enter the URL of the video file that you want to set as desktop background or click Select File option to select a video file on your PC and set it as desktop background. For best results, we recommend you select a video saved on your PC.

Click Save button to have selected video as your Windows 10 desktop wallpaper. You may now minimize Plastuer to the system tray by clicking the Close button. To terminate Plastuer, right-click on its system tray icon and then click Exit option.
