With default installation settings, all recent versions of the Windows operating system display the date and time on the taskbar.
Until now, Windows 11 has shown the full date and time: the date, month, and year. Similarly, the clock shows hours, minutes, and AM/PM (an option is also available to show seconds). Most Windows users are used to seeing this full or long date and time format on the taskbar.
However, a recent update has not only removed the notification bell icon from the taskbar but also how the date and time appear on the taskbar. The Windows 11 taskbar now shows a short date and time, apparently to free up more space on the taskbar!
As you can see in the picture below, the taskbar does not show the year next to the date and month. Besides, AM/PM has also been removed from the clock.
Luckily, Windows 11 does offer an option to restore the old-style full date and time on the taskbar.

This guide shows you how to show the full date and time on the Windows 11 taskbar.

Step 2: On the left pane of the Settings app, click Time & language. Now, on the right side, click Date & time.
Step 3: Lastly, click on Show time and date in the system tray option to see hidden options.
Step 4: Deselect the Show abbreviated time and date option to show the full date and time on your Windows 11 taskbar. That’s it!
From now on, the Windows 11 taskbar should display the full date and time.
