How To Sign Out Of Store App In Windows 10

There could be a couple of reasons why you want to log out of the Windows Store app in Windows 10. You probably want to use a different Microsoft account address to download apps from the Store, or maybe you want to sign out of the Store in Windows 10 before handing over your PC to someone else.

As everyone knows, one needs to sign in with a Microsoft account in order to download and install apps from the official Store in Windows 10. Although it’s possible to install apps from the Store without switching your local account to Microsoft account, you need to sign in with a valid Microsoft email address to install apps.

Log out of Windows 10 Store

If you have signed in to Store app and now want to log out of it for any reason, you can do so with a few steps.

And the good thing is that you can log out of the Store even if you’re signing in to Windows 10 using a Microsoft account. This means that users using both Microsoft account as well as local user account to sign in to Windows 10 can sign out of the Store with ease. This also means that you can use different email addresses to sign in to Windows 10 and Store.

If you want to sign out of the official Store app in Windows 10, you can do so by following given below directions.

Step 1: Open the Store app by clicking or tapping Store tile on the Start menu. You can also use the Start menu search to launch the Store app.

Step 2: Once the Store app is launched, tap or click your Microsoft account picture (which appears right next to the search box), and then click or tap on your Microsoft account name/email address as shown in the image below.

Step 3: When you see the following Account dialog, click or tap on your Microsoft account email address to view the Sign out option.

Step 4: Click or tap on the Sign out link to sign out of the Store app in Windows 10. You can now sign in to Store either using the same email address or a different one.

Please note that you don’t need to sign in to the Store app to update apps installed from the Store. With default settings, Windows 10 automatically updates all apps shipped with Windows 10 as well as apps installed from the Store. You can also manually update Store apps without having to sign in to the Store app.
